Collection Description
The collection consists of general financial ledgers of the Newark Board of Education. Twelve volumes, recording expenditures by school, cover the periods 1878 to 1921 (with gaps). Two oversize volumes, with entries arranged by school, cover the period 1922 to ca. 1936. Two volumes cover the period 1933 to 1945, recording expenditures by category (not by school).
