Access NoteCummings New Jersey Information Center is a research-level collection of materials relating to New Jersey, Essex County, and Newark. It includes both historical and current resources in these formats: books, newspapers, documents, archival collections, and audio-visual materials. In January 2006 The Library’s New Jersey Information Center was renamed in memory of Charles F. Cummings, its long-time Director and Newark City Historian.
Winter hours are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 10:30 am-5:30 pm; and Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 am-7:30 pm. In summer, evening hours are Wednesday only. Closed Sundays. Researchers wishing to use archival collections are advised to contact the Center in advance.
