Access NoteThe Newark Police Museum is owned and maintained by the Fraternal Order of Police, Newark Lodge #12. Its collection of Newark Police memorabilia and photographs is housed in two large rooms, one devoted to the main collection and the other housing memorabilia and photographs documenting the military service of Newark police officers, from the Civil War onward. Historic records are housed in an office accessible to Museum staff only; staff will carry out research (including genealogical inquiries) on request. The Museum welcomes visitors and has regularly hosted groups of police officers from around the world, students at all levels, and collectors of police memorabilia. Researchers and others planning a visit should call ahead to check on opening hours and the availability of the curator.
