Collection Description
The American National Bank of Newark records consist of financial documents and correspondence, some of which pertain to financial institutions in Russia, Germany and Eastern Europe. Included in the collection are German, Eastern European, and Russian financial documents (early 1920s); correspondence and documents regarding transactions with German and Polish banks; correspondence and documents regarding the difficulties in transferring money to individuals in Russia (1918); bank books from Polish and German banks; identity cards of Polish individuals; and a bond for 400 francs, Constantinople (1870).

Also in the collection are canceled checks (1916-1917); correspondence to account holders; and bank books of the Fidelity Trust Company and Springfield Avenue Trust Company, Newark. A number of the documents appear to belong to a Daniel L. Strauss.
