This short documentary sequence (ca. 12 minutes, in color), produced by Al Clarke for First Run Features is an excerpt from the series "Brick City" (Sundance Channel, 2009). It features host Lisa Durden. The subject is the early history of the Newark-based Savoy Record Company, one of the most important labels in the history of jazz and gospel music recording. (The title used above is derived from the closing credits.)
